In The Moment

When I was a child
I remember
While we were riding on a boat
I once asked my mother
How come the trees are moving towards us

In the present day
It takes my whole conscience
 To be able to
Observe the world
Through that point of view

But, doesn't it feel content?
To wander through the days
While enjoying things
Beyond how it seems

To love your job
So much
You realize how tempting
The new piles of paper on the desk

To enjoy the long drive home
While realizing
You could dance all day long
To the new song on the radio

To enjoy the late night shift
While observing
The lights comes from
The over populated buildings

Despite, Beyond Without

Artwork by Komang Kartika Dewi shot at an Exhibition at Casa Luna Restaurant
Ubud, Bali, Indonesia

I remember since I was little
My mother never told me
That to be able to live
I have to be perfect at
Being graceful without foul
Saying yes without yet
Nurture without failure

But

I remember since I was little
My mother always told me
That to be able to live
I have to try my best at
Believe in the beauty
Despite the adversity
Believe in the power of question
Despite the established statement
Believe in my intuitions
Despite the judgements

Then, who are you?
To come now
And tell me otherwise?

Too

She walks too fast for her laid-back neighborhood
She has a too open thoughts for her conservative neighbor
She is too opinionated for her male dominated workplace
She is too demanding for an easy satisfied society
She is too curious for her careless generation
She is too observant for her ignorant surroundings
She does not fit anywhere, other than in her own thinking
She is too…
alive

Carnival

Experiencing him is like
Being at a carnival in the shoreline
Even if it only happens once in a while
Still it is a carnival

When the carnival is about to close
And the amusement is about to end
The excitement doesn't just end
There still will be a firework show

The lights and the color splashed in the sky
 Will still be remembered
Long after I got back home
And on the way home
I can even still see stars over the shoreline
Along the road
I can even still smell the refreshing salt
In the sea
I can even still feel the wind
Slipping through my hands

Even if it only happens once in a while
The happiness lasts long
